Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develops and maintains new and existing relationships with external corporate, social and non-profit customers
  • Manages inquiries directly, creates competitive proposals for future business with creative menu writing
  • Negotiates contracts through all stages, collects financial commitments
  • Supports the catering marketing plan including a comprehensive event planning service to clients and detailed menu development
  • Provides support and strong details to the operations and culinary teams to ensure successful operations and catering functions in conference rooms including preparation, transportation, setup, operation, and clean-up of all events
  • Additional responsibilities include the reporting of operating statements, reports, and operational budgets, and review of the collection of receivables
  • Responsible for all catering activities, books, plans & directed functions
  • Menu development and marketing functions as they relate to the catering department

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Associates or certificate in Hospitality and/or Culinary degree a plus
  • Strong knowledge of food, food trends, fine dining points of service
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in hospitality industry including 2 years in management (preferably Catering Management) is required
  • Booking, selecting and costing menu items, pricing contracts, and resourcing temporary help and equipment experience is key
  • The ability to supervise food preparation, service and clean-up is also essential
  • ServSafe Certified a plus
  • Must be able to pass criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening
