PRIMARY CHARACTERISTICS

The CRA Loan Originator is an outside sales position that is responsible for sourcing and originating Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) eligible residential loans for EverBank from third party referral sources (realtors, brokers, builders, affordable housing providers, non-profit community organizations, etc.).  The CRA Loan Originator manages the client experience from application to closing and also coordinates and leads EverBank's community development service initiatives in the CRA assigned territory.      

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Originates CRA eligible residential mortgage loans in accordance with the bank's loan policies and procedures
  • Participates in selected down payment programs for low-to-moderate income homebuyers
  • Establishes a strong presence for EverBank in the assigned territory by developing relationships with realtors and community development groups working with low-and-moderate income housing programs
  • Attends homebuyer education seminars, trade shows and other financial education events to raise consumer awareness of EverBank loan products and services
  • Develops and maintains community development relationships leading to small business and community development lending/investment opportunities.
  • Encourages bank participation and support of charitable and non-profit service opportunities and helps insure participation is documented.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to structure loan transactions utilizing multiple funding sources to create homeownership opportunities for Low and moderate-income individuals and families    
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Business development and superior customer service skills
  • Knowledge of loan origination software applications
  • Ability to analyze credit and work with credit underwriters to structure loan transactions meeting the bank's lending criteria
  • Ability to develop, support and retain strong realtor and community development relationships

  

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

  • Must have experience in originating affordable residential loans and some community development banking experience
  • Experience providing loan products tailored to the low-to-moderate income and/or first time homebuyer
  • Minimum of 2 years lending experience in the assigned territory
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Must be S.A.F.E. Act registered through NMLS

Must have and maintain a valid driver's license issued within the United States, insurance, and a driving record within EverBank's Vehicle Policy guidelines.
